It pays to be smart when you’re buying a new air conditioner.
PeakSmart is a new way to reward eligible households and businesses that help reduce electricity usage during peak periods.
It is as simple as connecting an additional device (signal receiver) to your air conditioner during the installation. This device will be activated on a few days a year during high energy demand. When activated, your air conditioner’s energy consumption will be capped for a short period, similar to economy mode. The best part is you won’t have to do anything and won’t notice a difference to your comfort.
How to apply…
- Buy a PeakSmart air conditioner – most major brands are PeakSmart enabled, a complete list is available at Energex.com.au/peaksmart
- Get a signal receiver – ask your retailer or installer to supply you with a signal receiver.
- Install– have your air conditioner and signal receiver installed at the same time. Make sure your installer completes the installation form enclosed in the signal receiver pack.,
- Apply for your reward – Go to Energex.com.au/peaksmart Have your installation for, air conditioner receipt and bank details ready when you apply.
- Receive your reward– Once approved, your reward will be deposited into your nominated bank account by EFT within 28 days.
