NOT COOLING
When your air conditioning system is not cooling as well as it should be or running inefficiently, you can suspect that there may be an issue with either the air flow through the system (such as dirty air filters) or the unit has a gas leak. Buderim Air will need to inspect the system, leak test to locate the gas leak and, depending on it’s location, repair it. This will involve repairing the leak and recharging the system with gas.
NOISY UNIT
Noisy air conditioning units often indicate some form of wear and tear in the running components of the system. The most common components to wear and generate noise are the fan motor bearings, in either the indoor or outdoor units.
In this case, replacing the worn out components is essential to preserve the longevity of the unit and preventing further damage to the unit.
NOT TURNING ON
When your air conditioning system is not turning on, and showing no signs of power, check the main electrical isolator next to the outdoor unit and the main circuit breaker to ensure they have not tripped.
If the main electrical power input is not affected, Buderim Air will need to inspect the system and conduct a few tests to diagnose the nature of the fault and recommend possible solutions to rectify the issue.
LEAKING WATER
Leaking water from either the indoor or outdoor unit is a sign that your system needs a good service. Over time, the drain lines fill up with sludge and debri, causing restriction to the condensate drain line, resulting in a build up of water within the unit. Buderim Air can perform a routine service call to clear the drain lines, give the system a good cleanand ensure your system is running at it’s optimum.
FAULT CODE
When your air conditioning system displays an error code on the control panel, it is indicating there is a running fault with your unit.These can be for a variety of reasons such as faulty electronics, blocked filters or gas leak ect. We recommend resetting the system at the electrical isolator to clear the fault. If this doesn’t clear the fault, tests will need to be performed to determine the exact nature of the fault.
POOR PERFORMANCE
Blocked air filters or blocked condensor coil are usually responsible for poor performance of your air conditioning system. This dirt build up prevents the system from efficiently cycling air through the system, making the unit work that much harder. This will often result in increased energy consumption and system failures. All of which can be prevented by regular servicing.
BAD ODOUR
When your air conditioning system has a bad, stale odour, it generally means the system is in need of a good service. There could be a build-up of mould and bacteria within the system or a build-up of sludge and muck within the drain lines. Ask Buderim Air about their “Full Monty” service. GAS LEAK
Refrigeration gas leaks occur as a result of damage or wear and tear to the internal components of the system. Not only will this result in under performance of the AC unit, or a build up of ice on the system, but is also hazardous to the ozone and needs to be attending to with urgency. The refrigeration gas is colourless and odourless and will require specialised equipment to locate and repair the leak.
